Getting active across Brewarrina Shire

The Brewarrina Shire Council is taking bold steps to get its communities moving by launching an ambitious ‘Active Transport Plan’.

Aiming to make walking, cycling, and commuting safer and more accessible across the shire’s towns and villages, the Council is calling on residents to join the effort in shaping a more active future.

Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager David Kirby said that council wants to know how you move around the shire, where you currently walk and cycle, and where you want to be able to move about.

“We want to know all this so we can ensure our plans for upgrading local active transport infrastructure actually adds value and makes a difference for our residents,” Mr Kirby said.

The idea is to develop a plan for each town and village across the shire to promote a healthy lifestyle.

This will include enhancing walking and cycling infrastructure, promoting health and sustainability, improving connectivity, and ensuring the safety of all. […]
