Get along to the Bre Races this Saturday
Get your backside track side this Saturday, May 18 for one of the biggest events on the Brewarrina calendar – the Brewarrina Cup Races.
Not wanting a repeat of last year’s devastating outcome, when the racing event was cancelled on the scheduled day due to track conditions, the race committee has been ticking every box to make sure things go off without a hitch.
“We are positive there should be no issues,” Brewarrina Race Club President, Tim Slack-Smith said.
“We are busy doing all the last-minute things like installing the required fencing and second-hand railing that we received. We have 600 metres of it as well as putting up some of our own flexi-rail.”
Mr Slack-Smith said the racing stewards came out to check the track a week ago and would be visiting again before race day as well as inspecting the track on the actual race day. […]
