Generous donation brings Relief to Lightning Ridge Store

In a heartwarming act of kindness, Lightning Ridge’s Vinnies store received a large unexpected delivery of clothing and essential items, courtesy of Officer Paul Waite from Olympic Park in Sydney.
Officer Waite’s mother, a dedicated Vinnies volunteer for over four decades, extended her support by donating these much-needed supplies.

Kimbo Field, the store manager, expressed her gratitude, emphasizing the critical role Vinnies plays in meeting the needs of Lightning Ridge residents and tourists, especially considering the limited shopping options in the area.
“Paul’s mum’s thoughtful gesture means a lot to us,” Kimbo shared. “As the cost of living continues to rise, there is a growing demand for affordable clothing and household items, making Vinnies’ services even more vital”.
Many second-hand stores have responded to this demand by offering a wide range of vintage items, particularly appealing to the younger generation.
