Paint and Sip is a workshop that Franka Friedrichs-Borkovic from Outback Event Rooms thought that Lightning Ridge residents might have fun with, and she was right!

Last week, Franka told The Western Herald how the Paint and Sip evenings came about.

“Over the past 10 years I have been really fortunate to be able to attend different workshops”, Franka said.

“I have always really loved learning new skills, getting out of my comfort zone, trying something new, but also it is about friendship and mateship - women (and men) coming together in a supported way.

“That to me is equally important when learning something, to complement each other, which in everyday life, we don’t often do. We might think that someone is doing something great, but in the workshop environment I have always experienced that it is said out loud.

“To me, that is what life is all about. We all like to hear something positive from someone else, and it’s been great that everyone has come together in a safe setting to try something new.”

Justine Buckley has been the tutor for both workshop sessions, after Franka had approached Justine pre-Covid with ideas and Justine jumped at the opportunity.
