Fun farewell for Goodooga Central School Year 12 graduates

Goodooga Central School farewelled its outstanding Year 12 students last term with a moving assembly followed by a day of laughter and fun.

At the HSC Farewell Assembly, the school community came together to recognise the achievements of its shining stars - Ruby Hooper, Kiyesha Orcher, Kyanne Cochrane, and Ava Orcher.

“The four deadly young Aboriginal women have completed 13 years of schooling with commitment and diligence, balancing their studies with school-based traineeships. They have been going to work for two weeks every term and making their school and community proud They are now preparing to sit their HSC exams before stepping into the wider world,” a school spokesperson said.

Principal Darren Banks and staff spoke with immense pride about the graduates’ accomplishments, describing them as role models for the entire school and community.

The assembly also farewelled Raymond Cubby, who returned to GCS last year. Raymond was recognised for his maturity and determination as he continues working towards his dream of serving in the Australian Defence Force. […]
