Fuel Crisis will not ground the Flying Doctor

As the fuel crisis continues to impact remote communities, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has promised bush communities the organisation will stand by them.

Despite rising operating costs, RFDS CEO Greg Sam told 2WEB and The Western herald that the purpose and spirit of the Flying Doctor would not waver.

“Day in, day out, we do what we do and people living in rural and remote areas understand the challenges that get put before us,” Mr Sam said.

“Whether that’s environmental or as we’re experiencing now with the threat of energy supply arising from the conflict overseas, it’s just really part of the service and I think speaks to the spirit of the Flying Doctor.

Mr Sam said the national fuel crisis was causing higher supply chain costs and increases in the cost of aviation fuel and general petrol prices, but at this stage there had been no disruption to fuel supply. […]
