Free pet procedures unleashed in Bourke

It’s time to round up your best friends! Eligible Bourke residents will have the opportunity to access free veterinary care when RSPCA NSW’s Healthy Pet Days return.
Scheduled over two days, Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th November, from 9am at the Full Gospel Church (Corner Short and Tarcoon Streets), the initiative provides free vaccinations, microchipping, tick and worm prevention, and general health checks, along with pet food giveaways and sign-ups for desexing.
The event is open to Bourke residents with a JobSeeker, Pension or Health Care Card and is supported by Kidman Way Veterinary Surgery, Bourke Shire Council, Aboriginal Affairs NSW, Maranguka, and the RSPCA’s Indigenous Community Companion Animal Health Program.
Local veterinarian Dr Charlotte Cavanagh said her clinic supported this great initiative.
“It’s a really positive event,” Dr Cavanagh said. “The RSPCA are fantastic, and the team comes all the way from Sydney. While a lot of treatments can be done on the spot, like the checks, treatments and vaccinations, people can also sign up their dogs or cats for desexing which we do here at our surgery. We are reimbursed through the RSPCA so everything’s free for the client.” […]
