First fight victory for Bourke’s Bruce Delany

It was a great result for 14-year-old Bruce who won the bout in the third round with a technical knockout against Parkes boxer, Tyler Everingham at the Parkes Mayhem Boxing event last weekend.

“It was my first fight ever and the other guy came out all guns blazing trying to take me out,” Bruce said, “but I was fit enough to defend myself in the first round and come back strong in the second and third rounds.

Proud father, Ernie Delany said his son had done a great job.

“He composed himself really well, especially after a tough first round, and he stayed focused all the way,” Ernie said.

“Bruce went down on one knee during the first round and copped a count to 8, but rallied from that point and got on top during the next two rounds. […]
