Author Fiona McArthur is shining a light on the heart of the outback with her latest novel, The Lightning Ridge Ladies, which was released on September 15th.

Known for her rich storytelling and deep affection for rural communities, Ms McArthur returns to a place that clearly left its mark.

“I couldn’t resist going back to Lightning Ridge,” Ms McArthur said, “It made such an impact on me.”

While the book features an entirely new cast of characters - outsiders discovering the Ridge for the first time - she’s included a few “little easter eggs” in the form of cameo appearances from previous characters.

The Lightning Ridge Ladies blends elements of mystery, romance, and strong female friendship.

“This book’s got it all,” Ms McArthur said. “Romance, mystery, a bit of suspense, which is a little different for me, and of course that stunning outback setting that I just love to paint the rest of the book on top of.” […]
