Successful community consultations in Brewarrina and Goodooga have paved the way for an exciting new school holiday camp, giving young Aboriginal youth the chance to develop essential financial skills.

The Moolah Bagul Wulung Financial Literacy Program will give First People’s children in Brewarrina Shire the opportunity to build essential financial skills while deepening their cultural knowledge at a two-day school holiday camp.

The program is the brainchild  of Annette Rose, from Bright in Victoria, Founder of Kids Get Money, and ex-Goodooga local Lavinia Gibbs, the founder of To Rise Up Teaching and Consultancy.

To guide the content of the camp, Ms Rose and Ms Gibbs held community consultations at Brewarrina and Goodooga.

“These consultations were really important as the kids are incredibly forthcoming,” Ms Rose said.

“In Bre we had 10 adults, and eight kids as a core group and as we were talking, some more teens joined us, as well as some other adults.” […]

Kids from Year 5 to Year 12 are welcome to join the free Moolah Bagul Wulung Financial Literacy Program which will be held at ‘Beds-on-the-Barwon’ on Monday and Tuesday the 14th and 15th April.

To register, contact Annette Rose at annette@kidsget.money or on 0458 220 886.
