Famous Chef turns up in Bourke

Last week Bourke’s social pages were alive with people saying they had spotted English celebrity chef Rick Stein in Bourke.

It seemed that if he was indeed in town, he was only spotted for short periods.

When local resident Big Brian Smith posted on social media sporting a selfie at the Bourke Wharf with the UK legend it was confirmed that Mr Stein was indeed in town.

I caught up with Mr Stein by a matter of luck outside Bourke Council Chambers.

While reluctant to shed light on why he was in Bourke, Mr Stein was happy for a chat and some photos.

Rumours also circulated that he had been at Rose Isle Station with his camera crew, cooking up a lamb dish. […]
