The excitement – and the pressure – is mounting as the 30th anniversary of the iconic Ronny Gibbs Sevens tournament draws near.

This year, the event will celebrate three decades of tireless work by Ronny and his team, bringing sport, mentorship, inspiration and opportunity to kids in the bush.

Participation is dependent on school attendance, and Ronny remains passionate about using sport to reinforce good habits at school and in the community.

The event kicks off on Monday 26 August and runs for four days. Youngsters from across western NSW will take part in netball and football competitions, skills drills, social events and games, as well as a gala event for the entire community.

Coaching clinics will be held in the lead up and Ronny is urging schools across the region to sign up and be part of the event.

Ronny brings with him a team of current and former footballers to pass on their skills and important life lessons. He also has several support organisations working in partnership to deliver the event – NSW Sport and Recreation, NSW Rugby League, Creative Community Concepts and the Duke of Edinburgh’s team from Orange.
