Easter is shaping up as one of the biggest weekends in the Outback, with Bourke, Brewarrina, and Lightning Ridge all offering their own celebrations and activities, from full-scale festivals to footy matches, racing and quieter riverbank gatherings.

In Bourke, preparations are complete for the Back O’Bourke Easter Festival, kicking off on Good Friday (tomorrow), with Bourke Shire Council Economic Development Manager Mel Milgate keen to make one thing clear.
