From the first race to the final song, Brewarrina’s race day on Saturday May 16 is shaping as one of the biggest social events of the season, with locals and visitors expected to turn out in force for a six-race program and a full afternoon of entertainment, fashion, and fun.

Race committee member and Publicity Officer, Naya Jeffries, said preparations are well underway, with the annual event once again expected to draw strong local support.

“We’ve got a six-race program this year and, as usual, the races are being held mid-May,” Naya said. “It’s a great time to get everyone together.”

With $75,000 in prize money, highlighting the race’s importance on the western districts racing calendar, trainers, jockeys, and horse owners are counting the days until they hit the well-maintained track. []
