The sixth annual Long Drive for Drought rally rolled into Bourke last week, highlighting the resolve and camaraderie of 59 iconic Toyota Land Cruisers and 110 dedicated crew members.
Starting from the historic Nindigully Pub in Southern Queensland, these passionate participants traversed the rugged Outback, rallying not just for adventure but to support farmers impacted by drought.
The journey began with teams making their way down to the NSW border, stopping briefly in Walgett before arriving into Bourke on Friday.
After a night at the Kidman Camp in North Bourke, crews departed Saturday morning for Tilpa via Louth.
A much-needed pitstop at Shindy’s Inn Louth provided a warm taste of local hospitality, revitalising the participants for the next leg of their journey.
Last Saturday culminated in a special event—the world premiere screening of “The Better Man,” an Australian film set against the picturesque backdrop of the Tilpa region and featuring the legendary 40’s series Land Cruiser. […]
