Bourke’s Coral Gossner has snapped up the 2026 Vinnies Adult Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Bourke community over the past 10 years.

Coral has been a dedicated volunteer in Bourke for over a decade and throughout this time has undertaken many different volunteer roles. She currently serves as the Store Manager of the Bourke retail store, where her leadership, commitment, and passion are evident in every aspect of the store’s operation.

The Bourke retail store supports not only the local township but also services 13 surrounding Indigenous outback communities. Despite operating with a very small volunteer team and facing the unique challenges of a remote regional community, Coral continues to ensure the store remains open, welcoming, and fully operational for the people who rely on it.
