Community urged to support call – bring back local bus service!

The Bourke community is being urged to take part in a campaign to re-instate local bus services in the town. Surveys have been deposited in designated areas around the township where people can fill in their responses about the need for bus services. The completed surveys will be delivered to the NSW government next week.

The campaign has been launched by Cathy Lowe and Stacy Dudgeon, on behalf of Bourke Bus Service. Cathy said although a contract for a bus service would allow her to expand, the primary goal was to make sure residents had a service that she said should be considered a necessity, not a luxury.

“People absolutely need it,” Cathy said. “Locals, visitors, visa workers – they are all without a service at the moment. […]
