Communities gather in faith for Easter River Convention

The Brewarrina community came together over the Easter weekend to take part in meaningful services, and share faith, food and fellowship during the annual Northwest NSW River Convention.

Held from Good Friday, April 3, through to Easter Sunday, April 5, the event marked the beginning of a two-week gospel outreach across the Outback.

The Northwest NSW River Convention is a travelling event that combines fellowship and community engagement. Leading the event is Northwest Community Church Pastor Isaac Gordon, who said it was a blessing to see so many people engage with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“We had more than 200 people come to the Brewarrina convention – people from Queensland, the Northern Territory, we had families from Granville in Sydney, from Dubbo and Bourke – it was a blessing to see God at work,” he said.

“We had five baptisms over the weekend, which was such a blessing to see God at work. […]
