Central Darling Council welcomes $10m for water treatment plants

Central Darling Shire Council has welcomed Federal and NSW government funding of $10 million for new water treatment plants at Wilcannia, White Cliffs, and Ivanhoe, and a new potable water reticulation system at White Cliffs.

In July last year, the construction of the new, and much-needed, water treatment plants for Ivanhoe and Wilcannia was put in doubt because of a funding shortfall.

However, last week NSW Senator Deborah O’Neill visited Wilcannia to announce additional funding for the long-term water quality infrastructure.

Once complete the plants will provide safer, more reliable drinking water to Wilcannia, Ivanhoe, and White Cliffs.[…]
