Indigenous workforce development in Bourke celebrated a significant milestone late last year when nine young local people were celebrated at the Deadly Connections graduation ceremony.

Local graduates included Acacia Roberts, Brittney Knight, Jenny Norman, Brooklyn McInerney, Abbey-Leigh Warwick, Lily Hand, Emma Boal, Will Mitchell and Adrienne Richards who all earned Early Childhood qualifications.

The Deadly Connections program equips participants with skills to thrive in the workforce and marks a significant step toward closing the employment gap for Indigenous Australians.

In partnership with training organisation ECTARC, Deadly Connections gave local participants training and hands-on learning experiences in local childcare facilities, preparing them for careers in early childhood education. […]
