Captain wanted for Jandra paddleboat
Bourke Shire Council is on the lookout for a new captain for local tourism icon, the PV Jandra.
Bourke’s premier tourist attractions, the Jandra Paddleboat is presently tied up at dock – not able to go anywhere without a qualified captain.
Bourke Shire Council General Manager Leonie Brown said that Council’s last call out for a captain had brought a big response, but unfortunately, the successful applicant has since had to leave due to health reasons.
“Council is back searching again,” Mr Brown said. “Last time we received a lot of media attention on Facebook, ABC radio, ANC 24, and the morning Sunrise show on television. That brought quite a bit of interest which was great as it’s a job with specific qualifications”. […]
