Brewarrina teens hit the road and the salon

Young people across Brewarrina have taken practical steps toward their futures, with strong participation in Brewarrina Shire Council’s Autumn School Holiday Program delivering real-world skills both on the road and in the salon.

The program, held across the school holidays, combined a free two-day driving initiative with a three-day Barber and Hair Workshop, each designed to build confidence and create pathways for local youth.

The driving program, delivered by Ally’s Driving School, proved particularly popular among 16 to 18-year-olds. Participants received one-on-one lessons with a professional instructor, with each one-hour session counting as three logbook hours — a significant boost for young drivers in remote communities.
