The Brewarrina Clay Target Club held a very successful Barwon & District Championship at the Bre Gun Club on Saturday and Sunday.

Shooters travelled to Bre from as far as Bendigo, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Uralla, Orange, Cunnamulla, Moree, and many other clubs had members there.

Club Secretary Richelle Codrington said that the weekend was the biggest shoot the Bre club had staged in recent years.

“It was a fantastic rollup,” Richelle said, “we were more than happy with the numbers. People started arriving onsite at the gun club on the Monday before the shoot, and by Thursday, we had no more powered sites left.

“The gun club looked like a caravan site for the week,” Richelle said.

Major prizes on the weekend went to the following:

• Barwon & District Single Barrel – Graeme Turner of Richmond River

• Barwon & District Double Barrel – Graham Dawson of Guyra

• Local Double Barrel Champion: Braden Marret of Brewarrina

• Barwon & District Point Score – Waylon Bright of Coonamble

• Ian Light Memorial Handicap – Lucas Scales of Cobar

• Local Junior Handicap Winner – Alex Codrington of Bre

The Brewarrina Clay Target Club would like to thank its many sponsors, whose support makes events like this possible.
