Bre Quickshears is on again Saturday 3rd August

It’s not “click go the shears,” it’s more like “quick go the shears” at the Brewarrina Quicksheaars – an event to mark down on your calendar for Saturday 3rd August at the Bre RSL.

Fresh from being a gold sponsor at the Brewarrina Classic Bull Ride held two weeks ago, Taniell Pokarier-Baker and Kyle Brown from LuSid Shearing at Weilmoringle are holding their own event that day.

“It’s our second year organising the Bre Quickshears and after only one day of the nominations being open, we already had 20 competitors,” Taniell said.

“Last year we had people coming from all over – shearers from down in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and all over NSW, and we ended up with about 90 competitors, as well as around 500 spectators.”

Taniell and Kyle own LuSid Shearing, a busy shearing contractor team which services many woolgrowers across the region.

“We operate in a radius out of Weilmoringle and employ a lot of people in town and some from Brewarrina,” Taniell said. […]
