Bourke Warriors win Hot Nines double

The Bourke Warriors won twice on Saturday when their men’s teams defeated the Lynn Orcher Memorial team 30-8 just after the Bourke Warriors’ Womens team also took out the women’s grand final.
Following a huge day of quality rugby league at Bourke’s Davidson Oval, it was an ‘all-Bourke’ grand final double as the Warriors’ women’s team also beat the Lynn Orcher Memorial team 18-4 to take home the 2024 prizemoney.
Earlier, the Warriors men’s team defeated the Dingos team in the first semifinal, and Lynn Orcher Memorial overwhelmed the Wellingtons Wedgetails in the 2nd semifinal.
Bourke Warriors Captain Tony Pellow was named Men’s Player of the Day and in the Women’s tournament Bourke Warriors’ Annique Omodiagbe, was nominated a Women’s Player of the Day.
Women’s Player of the Final was the no 9 for Bourke Warriors – Tommi Booth and the Men’s Player of the Final was Bourke Warrior Luke Geary.
Bourke Warriors captain Tony Pellow said his team got better as the day went on and he was stoked with the Warriors’ performance in the grand final.
“It makes the long drive to Bourke worth it, and it was great to see the community of Bourke get behind the competition,” Tony said.
