Bourke Vinnies powering ahead

Bourke’s Vinnies Store is powering ahead under the management of Coral Gossner and Mary Anne Gordon.

As one of few clothing outlets in Bourke, Vinnies turns over ninety percent of its offerings and sometimes can’t keep up with the demand.

Manager Coral Gossner told The Western Herald that it is good to see people enjoying their shopping at Vinnies and finding the products they want.

“People come in here looking for everything,” Coral said. One might need a tin opener; one might need pots and pans, many people come looking for clothes and others for jewellery and other personal items.

“We have some specific sorts of things – right now we have four lovely wedding dresses for sale, and we just sold a set of beautiful crystal shot glasses – we sell many unusual items like that.

As far a clothes are concerned, the shop has turned into a ‘Vinnie’s Boutique’ with just about everything for sale in clothing, shoes, ladies, men’s and children’s items and lots of brand-new clothing as well.

At Bourke Vinnies the clothes, homewares and other items mostly come from other regions, from other Vinnies stores, from people who donate directly to the Bourke store and from some Victorian friends who bring a big trailer load from time to time. […]
