Bourke’s groundbreaking mobile CT scanner, a vital healthcare innovation, was officially launched last Thursday, coinciding with NAIDOC Week. While operational and serving the community since May 2023, the formal event celebrated its significant impact on delivering acute care directly to remote communities.

The launch proceedings kicked off with Senior Radiographer Ollie Mulcock highlighting the van’s unique capabilities.

“This is a unique van taking acute care patients out on the road,” Mulcock stated, underscoring its pioneering nature.

“We presented this project at a radiology meeting in Darwin last year and, also on an international level at the International Radiology meeting in Chicago last year.” He added that waiting for NAIDOC week provided the ‘perfect time’ to officially mark the achievement. […]
