Bourke U14s take on Cunnamulla Emus

Following an approach from Cunnamulla umpire and coach Michael Lloyd, the Bourke Under 14s side played at intertown match against the Cunnamulla Emus on Saturday.

It was a great morning of junior cricket at Davidson Oval with plenty of skills on display from both sides of the border, capped off by a delicious BBQ following the game.

Bourke batted first and scored 87 runs from 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Daly Old top scored for Bourke with 21 runs including 3 fours and was well supported by Finlay Turnbull who scored 10 runs and Billy Tiffen with 9.

In reply, Cunnamulla struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were all out for 49.

The lead-up to the match in Bourke has a little ‘back story’ about young Henry Land from Cunnamulla who called out to say that Cunnamulla didn’t have a cricket coach. […]
