Bourke tennis and netball courts ready to go

The new Bourke tennis and netball courts are ready, despite rain delays and vandals causing minor damage during the re-laying of the synthetic surface.

Rain has delayed the courts, but Bourke Shire Council General Manager, Mark Riley, said the facility is now ready for use.

On the weekend of 3rd and 4th of July, vandals entered the tennis court facility and threw glue over the new surface.

“It’s very disappointing to have vandals come in and cause damage to a facility that is there for everyone,” Mr Riley said.

“Contractor Jeff Costello, a former Bourke local, was very frustrated at the senseless damage.
