Bourke’s Kevin Hatch wins Highgun at Cobar

Bright & sunny conditions brought out 11 shooters on Sunday for the Beryl Jones Memorial Trophy at the Cobar Clay Target Club, with visitors among the contenders.

It was a beautiful sunny day, with the slightest breeze, which helped to keep the shooters alert, and on their toes.

Two Skeet events started the day, with all shooters showing their skills, some taking their time to get started, and a few new faces to the event, so they enjoyed a new element of target shooting. Well done, Paddy. Graeme Angove, 31/50, showed us his style. This is always a popular event.

After lunch, 3 down-the-line events were held.

Kevin Hatch won the AA Grade 30 Target Double Barrel event with a perfect score of 30/30. He then went on to equal first place in the AA Grade 30 Target Point score, matching it with Robert Thompson with another perfect score of 90/90.

The final and feature event – The Beryl Jones 30 Target Handicap – was won by Aaron Wyllie with a score of 27/30.  Full details of all events are below, thanks to the Secretary of the Cobar Clay Target Club, Julianne Foster. […]
