Bourke Public School Captains, Katrina Gersbach and Mahkita Kelly, are acknowledged for their leadership and community representation during a COVID disrupted year.

With many community events cancelled this year, the girls accepted every opportunity to represent themselves, their school, and the wider community.

Bourke Public School P&C President, Lisa Rankmore, said the girls did a fantastic job with limited opportunities.

“Mahkita and Katrina represented our school at the International Women’s Day at Bourke High School in March this year, including performing the welcome to country address.

“They attended the Grip Conference in Dubbo, Thiyamali Ochre Ribbon Day at the wharf and the Bourke ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day Services,” Lisa said.
