Bourke kids take centre stage at Sydney Opera House

Two young Bourke performers have taken their talents from western NSW to one of Australia’s most famous stages, joining hundreds of regional youngsters to perform at the Sydney Opera House.
Louise Samuelsson and Vallis Milgate were among around 400 young people involved in the latest Moorambilla Voices experience, travelling to Sydney for several days of rehearsals, workshops and performance.
The trip was part of Moorambilla Voices’ 21st year of providing creative and performance opportunities for young people from regional and remote NSW.
For Louise, the chance to perform at the Opera House was something she immediately recognised as special.
“I was really keen because once Mum told me, I was like, this is basically just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually go to the Sydney Opera House,” she said.[…]
