Bourke Council to develop motel project
Bourke Shire Council has resolved to appoint a consultancy firm to investigate the feasibility of the potential development of an additional motel in Bourke on vacant land next to the Back O’Bourke Exhibition Centre.
Council has appointed Sydney based consultancy firm Balmoral Group Australia, and their sub consultants DunnHillam Architecture, based on the project comprising three potential stages.
Bourke Shire Council’s General Manager Leonie Brown said that Stage 1 of the Consultancy is a Site Analysis of land that Council owns next to the Back O’Bourke Exhibition Centre.
“Should Council’s identified site be found to be unsuitable; Council reserves the right to terminate the consultancy and proceed no further,” she said.
Mrs Brown advised that should Council progress to Stage 2 of the consultancy, being the feasibility analysis, at the end of that stage, Council retains the option to proceed or not with Stage 3 of the project, being the preparation of a business case.
“The consultancy brief has been developed on a three-stage basis to minimise Council’s cost exposure in this important work for the Shire,” Mrs Brown advised.[…]
