Bourke Bowling Club News – Close battle on championship weekend
Chad Taylor and Peter Lienesch are the 2022 pairs champions after defeating Aiden and Matt Orcher 20-7 in a brilliant display of bowls last Friday afternoon.
Chad and Peter had an answer for everything Aiden and Matt threw at them. Congratulation Chad and Peter.
Jarryd Samuelsson, Adam McLean, and Brad Cross are the Bourke Bowling Club triples champions for 2022 after defeating Aiden Orcher, Matt Orcher, and Kim Parker 25-17 in a hard-fought match on Sunday.
Jarryd’s team led 18-7 at one stage before Aiden’s team mounted a comeback going on a nine shot to zero run to get back to 18-16. However, Brad, Adam and Jarryd kicked into gear to win the last couple of ends to secure the win.
Christmas bowls kicked off Friday night with 40 bowlers taking to the green. The blue dot $5000 jackpot didn’t go off with Charmaine Johnson winning the thousand-dollar prize in a sudden death playoff.
That brings the social bowls season to a close and with only the minor singles final to be played, the championship season has almost ended.
Thank you to everyone that has helped or participated in any of our bowls events this past twelve months.
We’ll be back early next year to do it all again.
Happy bowling and Merry Christmas to everyone.
Jarryd Samuelsson
Bowls Secretary
