Bourke Bowling Club – 2021 bowls season begins

The pennants bowls season got off to a flying start for the Grade 5 teams on Sunday, with a hard-fought win over the star-studded Nyngan side.

Glen Knight’s team won 16-11, Willie Orcher’s team won 22-16 and Jarryd Samuelsson’s team won 25-9, giving Bourke a 63-36 victory.

In the Grade 6 games, Nyngan defeated Bourke 63-56.

The Bourke teams put up a great fight to get back into the game, after being down multiple times, to come up just short in the end.

Dale Barker’s team won 25-13, Dwayne Willoughby’s team went down 20-29, and Henry Morris’ team were beaten by 21-11.

Bourke will now have the week off before both opens grades and the women’s pennants teams hit the road.

Grade 5 take on Trangie, grade 6 play Cobar and the ladies take on West Dubbo.

Teams for these games will be on the board in the next few days.

Nominations for the open four’s championships close on the 1st March.

Dash4Cash is back on Friday nights. Registration is open until 6.30pm with games commencing at 7pm.
