Bourke Big Bashers excel under lights and rain

Despite the showery weather, there were two big results in the Bourke Big Bash T20 competition at Davidson Oval on Saturday evening.

In the first match the Concrete Crushers posted a strong 3 for 113 from their ten overs against the Fizzy Plumbers. Nicholas Bates (29no), Hunter Thompson (28no) and Mick Willoughby (19no) led the scoring with plenty of big bash. Nichola Bates hit four sixes, Hunter Thompson hit 3 and Mick Willoughby 2.

Mandy Rice was the only Fizzy Plumbing bowler (not swearing) to take a wicket, with 1 for 9 off one over.

In reply, the Fizzy Plumbers couldn’t match the big total, finishing on 3 for 51 despite an impressive 35 runs from Daniel McKenna, giving the Concrete Crushers a 62-run win. Shane Bates was best with the ball for the Crushers, taking 1 for 1 off one over. […]
