The Bourke Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) had a monthly meeting last week to consider local educational issues for Bourke’s students, families and teachers.

Publicity Officer Lisa Rankmore said that the Bourke AECG was available to parents and carers who need support regarding their child’s education.

“The AECG can also advise parents, carers and families on communicating with the schools,” Lisa said.

“We have three member schools – the Bourke High School, St Ignatius Parish School, and Bourke Public School, and we are lucky enough to have Enngonia Public, Wanaaring Public and Bourke & District Children’s Services join us as well.”

This month, our local AECG had Priscilla Grimes (Pussy) who is the treasurer and she’s also a delegate for our Western 2 area

From Thursday 20 March until Sunday 24 March the Bourke AECG Treasurer and Western area delegate – Priscilla Grimes represented the local area at the AECG State AGM in Sydney.

• Secretary: Anne-Maree Riches
