There’s plenty happening at Bourke Public Library lately – fun for the kids, visiting authors and murder and mayhem – and you can even borrow books!

Bourke Library Coordinator Jodi Hatch said the visit from author Peter Watt, prompted plenty of conversation.

“We had a few people come along, which was great, and it was a really interesting talk,” Ms Hatch said. “Peter was very happy and he sold a few books too.”

The visiting writer, who hails originally from the country but now lives on the coast, is best known for his Frontier Series, a collection of historical fiction novels following the Duffy families through the pioneering days of Queensland and New South Wales. […]
