Excitement is building as Bourke organisers prepare for a big weekend of Easter celebrations at Bourke – during the Back O’Bourke Easter Festival.

Mel Milgate, the Economic Development Manager for Bourke Shire Council said all the action kicks off on Good Friday with the Back O’Bourke Colour Run organised by the St Ignatius P&F.

“The Colour Run starts at 10am down at the Bourke wharf – it’s a fantastic way to kick off the festivities as it’s lots of fun and the whole family can be involved,” she said. “Make sure you get in and register early for this event.”

Unfortunately, the Jandra Paddleboat won’t be running this Easter due to the high river but there are all the usual events and don’t miss the Billabong Music Session at the Back O’Bourke Café on Good Friday from 4pm.

Mel said she is pleased to see the Bourke Street Parade back on Saturday morning with plenty of entrants and a host of vintage cars and machinery, followed by the Easter Markets at the Bourke Wharf and Darling Park precinct.

“Bourke Rotary will be also holding Bourke’s famous wool bale rolling competition nearby in Mitchell Street with cash prizes for the winners – and registrations will be taken on Saturday morning,” she said. […]

All details are available in the Festival flyer available on the Back O’Bourke Exhibition Centre site.
