Bestselling author visits Bourke and Walgett

Nicole Alexander is the bestselling author of eleven historical fiction novels and recently called into Walgett and Bourke libraries as part of her regional tour.

Nicole came to the Walgett and Bourke Public Libraries last week, following on from the recent visit of another well-known Australian author, Chris Hammer who dropped into Bourke during May.

Almost a local, Nicole was born and raised north-west of Moree where her family owned a property producing Hereford beef cattle.

Some of her books have been based on journal entries from her family’s archives. In 2012, Nicole was named ‘Barwon Woman of the Year’ for services to literature and the promotion of outback Australia.

Bourke Library Manager, Jodi Hatch said the library staff enjoyed bringing well known writers to town and hosting them in public events and had been wanting Nicole Alexander to visit for some time. […]
