Back to school with full staffing!

The long summer holidays are now a memory, with school returning across the Outback.
Margaret Gordon-Poole, principal of Bourke Public School said all students have returned, have settled in, and are currently in their new classes and engaged in work.
“The kids were all excited to come back to school which makes us very happy, and staff are excited to see them all,” she said.
“The first term is looking busy. We had our Bourke Public School ‘Yarn Up’ and welcome barbecue this week, so all of our new and returning parents could check in.
“We love welcoming all our families to meet the staff and talk to their child’s teacher around personalised learning goals and just getting to know each other. It’s basically about forming strong relationships.
“On Friday 21 February, we have our swimming carnival and there is a lot of swimming this term including regional comps.
“We also have Best Start for our new kinder children and Naplan will kick in as well. All families will receive our term calendar, so they’ll know where all the events are and when they’re happening.”
Ms Gordon-Poole said the school was excited to welcome new staff at Bourke Public School.
“We were fortunate enough to have Georgia Watts to accept a position in our support unit, and Jim Ellison is coming on board to run the kitchen and garden program,” she said. […]
