Back O’Bourke Easter Picnic Races continues to impress

The Back O’Bourke Easter Picnic meeting has now become the biggest event in town and there was a tremendous trackside crowd for the 2026 meeting.

Former Bourke boy, and regular race caller, Tim Moses counts the Bourke Picnic Races as one of the best and most well organised meetings in the back country.

“The Bourke race committee does everything right in organising this annual Easter meeting, President Frank Kerr goes out of his way to promote the meeting amongst racing people everywhere, and people always turn up in droves to enjoy a great Easter Sunday of outback racing,” Tim said.

“The racing competition goes from strength to strength, the fashions on the field is always an excellent event, and the ground sand facilities are in tip top condition after years of improvement and hard work by the race committee and the Bourke Shire Council.”

Tim also said Bourke has the best dressed crowd both sides of the mountains and the race track is better than its ever been. […]
