The Bourke community gathered in Darling Park on Thursday, October 9th, to celebrate the arrival of its youngest members at the annual Welcome Baby to Bourke Ceremony.

The event, now in its fifth year, brought together families, community leaders, and health professionals to honour babies born to Bourke families and to strengthen cultural and community connections.

The event was hosted by Pat Canty and included a Smoking Ceremony and didgeridoo performance by Ben Orcher. Bourke Childcare welcomed families in language before Barkindji Elder Lyiata Ballangary gave the Acknowledgement to Country. […]
