Another Yetta Dhinnakkal promise for desperate communities?

NSW Premier Chris Minns made a brief visit to Bourke and Brewarrina last week to hear about the possibilities of a youth diversionary project based in Gongolgon.

Local media – including The Western Herald, Outback Radio 2WEB and the ABC were barred from covering the Premier’s visit, but Member for Barwon Roy Butler defended the Premier’s ‘media-free zone’, saying the focus was not on electioneering but demonstrating the need for ‘the program’.

While the visit didn’t result in any promises of funding for diversionary programs, Mr Butler said there had been ‘progress’.
