Annual CWA Wool Day fundraiser kicks off in style
Llanillo Station between between Lightning Ridge and Cumborah was abuzz with excitement on Sunday as Maude Harrison, President of the Goodooga/Lightning Ridge CWA, and her dedicated team of volunteers launched the 37th CWA Wool Day fundraiser.
This event holds great significance for the CWA, serving as a major fundraising initiative year after year.
The event’s tremendous success owes much gratitude to the outstanding efforts of Sue Scoles, Carmen Ritter, and Denise O’Brien, who orchestrated every aspect of the wool shed proceedings, ensuring smooth operations and a memorable experience for all who attended the wool shed presentation.
Wool growers from the surrounding region generously contributed 72 top-quality fleeces, vying for recognition and valuable prizes across multiple categories.
The coveted title of Grand Champion Fleece was awarded to Nick and Kath Deshon from Llanillo Station, showcasing their high-grade fleece. […]
