Amy’s homecoming brings new life to Weilmoringle

Since earlier this year, there has been a familiar face back behind the counter at the Weilmoringle Store and Post Office, with locals thrilled to have reliable services back in the community.

After two years in Sydney, young go-getter Amy Reid, 25, has returned to the Brewarrina Shire village she grew up in, with her two-year son, Ziya.

As if single-handedly looking after a child wasn’t enough, Amy decided to take over the post office and worked to get the general store fully back on track after years of uncertainty.

More than just the reopening of a business, it is the return of a local family connection stretching back decades.

Amy’s parents, Judith and Wayne Neale, ran the Weilmoringle Store and Post Office for more than 30 years, and fostered Amy from a young age. […]
