In the women’s tri tag, Gulargambone was facing off against Coonamble, a replay of the major semi-final. The Gulars were undefeated all year but in a big upset, the Coonamble Rams won the game 15-12.
“It was 12-10 at half time and it looked like business as usual for Gular but Coonamble came out in the second half and played a perfect game, with one try to take the lead ten minutes before the siren,” Tom said.
“With a 15-12 lead, Coonamble hammered the Gulars who couldn’t get over the line and Coonamble were victorious
“Coonamble played better footy all round and were a bit hungrier and defended very strongly off their line.
“Gular were gracious in defeat and took it well and can still be proud of a very successful season,” he said.
