A little bit of Goodooga in Sydney
On her recent visit to Goodooga, Police Minister Yasmin Catley was so impressed with a piece of artwork at Goodooga Central School that she decided to take it back to her Sydney office.
“While at Goodooga Central School I met student Tyreese Williams, a remarkable young artist,” Ms Catley said. “He is a student whose life could have taken a very different path if not for the support he gets from the school, his family and the Goodooga community.”
Goodooga Central School Principal, Malcolm Banks, said that Tyreese was a very enthusiastic artist.
“Recently Goodooga Central School was visited by the Police Minister and senior members of the NSW Police force, Mr Banks said.
“Minister Catley spoke with Tyreese, saw his artwork, was extremely impressed and made a purchase.”
In early November, Ms Catley’s trip to the western region included visits to Bourke, Brewarrina, Enngonia, Goodooga, Lightning Ridge, and Walgett and beyond, with senior police in tow. […]
