Naya turns her hobby into art

When Naya Jeffries’ parents gave her a camera for her 16th birthday, the camera inspired a lifelong passion for photography.

This week, what used to be a hobby has grown into a recognised artistic pursuit for Naya, who was invited to exhibit three of her photographs in this year’s Outback Archies competition.

The Archies are a popular and widely respected forum for exposing emerging artists in regional and remote communities. Naya said she was proud to showcase her beloved hometown Brewarrina, which is the subject of most of her images.

“I started when I was about sixteen, so it’s always been a hobby and I have learnt more and more throughout the years,” Naya said.
