Four-year-old gelding, Blitzar, part owned by Bourkeites Dwayne Willoughby, Troy Hayman, and Shirley Hayman stormed home to win at Dubbo on the weekend.

Blitzar won race 7, the South Lakes Classic Country Magic Class 2 Showcase Plate, over 1100 metres on Sunday – taking home prizemoney of $22,000.

Coming from the back, Blitzar took the inside rail, and sprinted home to take his total prizemoney winnings to $78,250.

Trained by Chris Heywood of Wagga Wagga and ridden by apprentice jockey Jean Van Overmeire, Blitzar blitzed the field to win by more than two and a half lengths.
